Garden Week 1 Sprouts

We started the garden later this year; but we’re seeing sprouts earlier than the seed packages predicted.

I’m really excited about the cowpea and kidney bean seeds I bought at Mount Vernon. I don’t think they are descendent from any plants George Washington had, but they still make our garden feel historic.

Quote of the Week #3

“It’s not the prettiest garden.” ~ my dad.

When I graduated from my grounds job, I thought I was done with weeding and deadheading forever. Not so. I came home and discovered my dad had planted a garden. At the time, only a few weeds were growing. But that was almost six weeks ago.  Now look at it!

It will still be a few weeks before we get to eat anything.

God designed plants in an amazing way. I enjoy watching them grow. Sometimes it’s really slow and sometimes it happens overnight. (I sound like a mother.)
