“Have you ever stopped to ponder the amount of blood spilt, the volume of tears shed, the degree of pain and anguish endured, the number of noble men and women lost in battle so that we as individuals might have a say in governing our country? Honor the lives sacrificed for your freedoms. Vote.”
~ Rochelle Goodrich
Last Saturday I watched Disney’s Johnny Tremain. Presented were the great leaders of the War for Independence who believed their rights were more important than their duty to the English king. But what would their resolutions be worth if they were not backed by the militia?
Without our brave soldiers, we would still be under British control. Or Nazi. Or communists. Or terrorists. The very existence of the United States depends upon military protection.
Thank you to everyone who has served or is serving in our military. Your sacrifices are more than we could possibly repay.
